From the time I was ten years old
my mother taught me how to bake, and the first cake I learned to
bake was of course a chocolate cake.
The chocolate cake recipe from
scratch I followed back then was very basic; basic ingredients and
basic method; but I was proud of my efforts and over the years my
skills and the recipes I use have advanced.
Back in those days we didn't have
the modern convenience of mixers, blenders and food processors so
all the creaming and blending was done by hand; with a wooden spoon
and a large bowl.
My Dad just loved chocolate,
chocolate cake and peanut brownies so baking chocolate goodies
became a regular Saturday ritual; what little girl doesn't want to
please her Dad. The same can be said today as I teach my girls to
bake.
It is well worth the effort
teaching your children to bake a cake. Not only are you teaching
life skills but you are providing an opportunity to share some
quality time with them.
Here you will find a few chocolate
cake recipes that I am sure your family will enjoy baking and eating
too.
I have given a few different types
of chocolate cake recipes to try which include a chocolate muffin
recipe and a chocolate cupcake recipe.
